It was interesting to find out that it used to be allotted 14 year for copyright protection, except now it is 70 years after the lifetime of the author. I also never heard of fair use or public domain. I figured that no matter what the circumstance we always had to cite the material. As a future teacher, it is interesting to see how if some work is used once and only for direct educational instruction, there are exceptions to usage.

2) W – What I Wonder About Copyright:
I am curious as to the limitations on copyright protection, and the exceptions to the rules. As a future educator, I am wondering about the ability of some professionals to photocopy text for their class or worksheets out of texts.
1) K – What I Know About Copyright:
I know that it is illegal to use another persons work without citing it or seeking permission from the original Source. Also that it is taken very seriously, however sometimes it is not enforced strongly enough in educational institutions until college. This applies to me as a teacher because I watch fellow educators at the school I work at copy material on a regular basis, and not inform their classes enough about the legal side of not citing.
